The New Buccaneer with Capt Sam Hardeman made the 12 hour deep sea trip today and returned with 398 vermillion snapper, 2 amberjack, 2 rock hind, 7 gray snapper, and 3 almaco jack. The Cavalier also had a nice 4 hour bay trip with some sharks and a big sting ray.

The New Buccaneer came in today from the 30 hour safari trip with 3 yellowfin tuna, 31 blackfin tuna, 1 bigeye tuna, 325 vermillion snapper, 31 almaco jack, 18 barracuda, 3 ling, 6 king mackerel, and 4 spanish flag. 

The Cavalier had a morning 4 hour bay trip and did will on red drum.

The Cavalier had a 8 hour trip today. Normally these trips are on Sundays only but in this case a very large group requested this date and returned with 115 spadefish, 10 lane snapper, 17 mangrove snapper, 1 scamp grouper, and 5 shark.

Another great 12 hour deep sea trip on the New Buccaneer with 533 vermillion snapper, 12 king mackerel, 4 rock hind, 7 almaco jack, and 

3 shark. The Cavalier also had a good bay trip with a very nice catch of sharks.

The Cavalier made the morning 4 hour bay trip and caught a large sting ray and quite a few sharks. The New Buccaneer returned from the 12 hour trip today with 214 vermillion snapper, 19 blue runner, 6 scamp, 8 king mackerel, 3 ling, 5 almaco jack, and 4 barracuda.

Today we put a wrap on the 2018 recreational for-hire red snapper fishery.  For vessels with Federal permits today was the last day to keep red snapper. For those with private boats and no Federal permits the season lasts another 30 days. The New Buccaneer and Cavalier made 12 hour deep sea trips today and once again both came in with boat limits of nice red snapper.

The New Buccaneer returned with 198 red snapper, 19 lane snapper, 8 king mackerel, and 2 ling. The Cavalier returned with 164 red snapper and 8 vermillion snapper.

Both the New Buccaneer with Capt Matt Smith and the Cavalier with Capt Sam Hardeman ran 12 hour deep sea trips today on the second to last day of the 2018 for-hire recreational red snapper season. Both trips came in with boat limits of red snapper.

New Buccaneer returned with 192 red snapper, 13 king mackerel, 1 dolphin (mahi mahi) while the Cavalier came back with 164 red snapper, 10 vermillion snapper, 1 dolphin (mahi mahi), and1 sharpnose shark.

The New Buccaneer had one of the best days of the red snapper season with a epic catch of fish.  Almost every red snapper came in at 15 pounds or greater. The trip returned with 194 red snapper, 34 lane snapper, 9 king mackerel, and 1 shark. The Cavalier had a fair 6 hour trip with 25 red snapper, 2 scamp grouper, 3 lane snapper, and 9 mangrove snapper.

The New Buccaneer and Cavalier both made 12 hour trips today and fishing continued to be excellent. The New Buccaneer returned with 194 red snapper, 25 vermillion snapper, 1 king mackerel, 1 rock hind, and 1 scamp. The Cavalier returned with 152 red snapper, 5 vermillion snapper, and 8 sharpnose shark.

The Cavalier made another 6 hour near shore trip today.  Capt Sam Hardeman found fish and the customers returned with a nice catch of 103 red snapper, 8 mangrove snapper and 5 king mackerel.  This is a great result for a short offshore trip.

The New Buccaneer with Capt Matt Smith returned with the usual limit of red snapper - 185 red snapper, 85 vermillion snapper, 1 blackfin tuna, 1 ling, 2 king mackerel, 2 rock hind, 7 blue runner, and 2 barracuda.

Friday the 13th was only unlucky for fish as both the Cavalier and New Buccaneer had great 12 hour deep sea trips. The Cavalier had a private 12 hour charter and came in with 118 red snapper (trip limit), 3 dolphin, and 67 vermillion snapper. Meanwhile, the New Buccaneer had a great trip with 200 red snapper (trip limit), 260 vermillion snapper, 1 king mackerel, 1 blackfin tuna, and 1 rock hind.

The Cavalier had a great AM bay trip with a lot of sharks and some red drum brought in.  The boat then made the 6 hour near shore trip and returned with a nice catch of 48 red snapper, 4 lane snapper and 5 mangrove snapper. The New Buccaneer continued its streak of catching a limit every day on the 12 hour offshore trip returning with 200 red snapper, 160 vermillion snapper, 2 king mackerel, 1 scamp, 7 blue runner, and 1 little tunny.

Today we had the New Buccaneer with Capt Matt Smith make the 12-hour deep sea trip and the Cavalier with Capt Sam Hardeman made an 8-hour offshore trip.  Normally we do not do 8-hour trips on weekdays but we had this one as a group of 60 asked for it. Both boats returned with boat limits of red snapper: the New Buccaneer returned with 182 red snapper, 20 king mackerel, 2 sharpnose shark, and 5 vermillion snapper. The Cavalier returned with 152 red snapper and 1 king mackerel.

The Cavalier made the morning bay trip and had a nice catch of red drum and sharks.  The boat then went on the 6-hour near shore trip from 1-7 PM and came back with another nice catch of 81 red snapper, 3 scamp grouper, 5 lane snapper, 1 mangrove snapper, one ling and 8 king mackerel.

The New Buccaneer also had a great day on the 12 hour deep sea trip and caught another boat limit of red snapper. They returned with 192 red snapper, 254 vermillion snapper (you seldom catch these with the competition), 5 king mackerel, 11 blue runner, 3 ling, 2 scamp, and 3 barracuda.

The Cavalier returned with 166 red snapper, 8 vermillion snapper, and 2 king mackerel. The New Buccaneer brought in 200 red snapper, 45 vermillion snapper, 2 dorado, 2 scamp grouper, and 1 ling.

Today was a very good fishing day.  First, the Cavalier made the AM bay trip and Capt Sam Hardeman found the fish.  Customers returned with a nice catch of red drum and sharpnose sharks.  The Cavalier then made the 6-hour nearshore trip and returned with 92 red snapper, 8 mangrove snapper, one vermillion snapper and one scamp grouper.  This $45 is the least expensive opportunity to catch red snapper in Galveston. The New Buccaneer with Capt Matt Smith caught yet another limit of red snapper and may have had the largest average weight of the season.  These fish were big. They brought in 200 red snapper, 9 king mackerel, 1 ling, and 8 lane snapper.

Another day and another limit of red snapper on the New Buccaneer 12 hour trip! 182 red snapper, 56 vermillion  snapper, and 1 king mackerel. The Cavalier ran the short 6 hour inshore trip and came back with a nice catch of 40 red snapper, 16 king mackerel, and 3 lane snapper.

The Cavalier with Capt Sam Hardeman departed at 1 pm on Monday with 40 anglers and returned at 1:45 PM Tuesday from the 25 hour safari trip.  This trip was designed to catch a two day limit of reef fish such as red and vermillion snapper.   The 40 anglers came back with 160 red snapper, 412 vermillion snapper and one scamp grouper.

The catch included 25 yellowfin tuna, 192 blackfin tuna, 3 skipjack tuna, 430 vermillion snapper, 55 amberjack, 10 scamp grouper, 9 almaco jack, 2 rock hind, 7 barracuda, and 20 bonito.

The Cavalier bay trip with Capt Sam Hardeman didn't come home empty handed - they returned with with gafftop, a stingray and several large red drum.

Bob Reynolds came in from the AM bay trip yesterday with a stringray, several red drum and some gaff top. The New Buccaneer with Capt Matt Smith and Capt Sam Hardeman returned from the 30 hour trip.  The 30 anglers brought in 21 yellow fin tuna, 38 black fin tuna, 270 vermillion snapper, 4 scamp grouper, 1 yellow edge snapper, 3 creole fish, 1 almaco jack, and 1 sand tile.

The New Buccaneer came in from the 30-hour trip with 25 yellowfin tuna, 101 black fin tuna, 314 vermillion snapper, 10 scamp grouper, 10 almaco jack, 1 yellowedge grouper, and 4 creole fish. Matt Smith was Captain and Sam Hardeman was second Captain.  There were 42 anglers on the trip and one Barn Owl that landed on the boat 120 miles offshore.  The crew brought it back and it flew off at Pier 19.

Our heartfelt thanks to all on the New Buccaneer 12-hour trip today, the second to last day of red snapper season.  A customer on the trip suffered a medical condition that prompted the boat to head back in just when it had arrived 66 miles offshore for the planned first stop of the day.  By the time the US Coast Guard helicopter arrived toevacuate the ill passenger the boat was only 17 miles from Galveston.  Capt. Matt Smith did a great job with the limited time available and the boat came in at9 PM with a limit of red snapper.  Our thanks to all those on the trip that hung in there and made the best from an unusual situation. The crew returned with 196 red snapper and 3 lane snapper.
